‘Meta’ is a Greek word meaning ‘after’ or ‘beyond’. It also has the meaning of ‘referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre or self-referential’. In English, it is a prefix to indicate a concept that is an abstraction behind another concept, used to complete or add to the latter.
This performance is aiming to be a visual ‘Meta’ for a fascinating musical composition by Steve Reich (Music for 18 musicians) in an experimental way.
‘Meta’ is a dance installation project choreographed by Mehdi Farajpour for Paris summer Academy 2017.
